  • What do I need to bring to class?

You!! Our studio is fully equipped with yoga props including good quality yoga mats. However, if you like to use your own mat, please feel free to do so.

  • I have done other yoga before, what is different about Iyengar Yoga?

Iyengar Yoga is the most practiced yoga worldwide and, like other forms of yoga it is considered a powerful tool to relieve the stresses of modern-day life. Developed by B. K. S. Iyengar, it is based on Patanjali’s eight-limbed yoga (Astanga yoga) and aims to unite the body, mind and spirit for health and well-being.

Iyengar Yoga often makes use of props which enable students to perform Asanas correctly. Props minimise the risk of injury or strain, and make postures accessible to everyone.

Great attention is paid to precision and alignment through the planned sequencing of Asanas (postures) and breath control (Pranayama).

  • How do I sign up for classes?

Chevron Yoga Centre provides 24/7 online access for class and course scheduling, registration and information. Simple go to the links provided on this page or visit our class timetable.

  • What should I wear?

General fitness clothing would be most suitable. Try to avoid baggy clothing as our Teachers observe the placement of your feet and ankles to ensure you are correctly doing the poses.

  • What if I have special conditions?

Try to arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled class. This will allow time for you to fill out the Health Form and to discuss your special conditions (injuries, surgeries and other physical conditions) with your teacher.  If you are uncertain, please contact us beforehand to discuss your condition in confidence.
