This workshop will explore how to best support the digestive system through our yoga practice. The digestive system can be compromised through diet, stress, lifestyle and sleeping habits, addictions, work, and postural holding patterns. The first part of the workshop will incorporate a sequence of asanas that are designed to support digestion. You will learn correct asana alignment and how to balance muscular tone and release, which are key in achieving optimal digestive health. The second part of the series will be based on cooling the nervous system through restorative and pranayama techniques to calm and reset digestion.
Students should have at least 12 months yoga experience, have had some basic foundation practice including shoulder stand and headstand – or their variations.
