New Year Iyengar Yoga Immersion Program
This year, I would like to offer to current and new students an opportunity to explore Yoga in an immersion style program. We will be looking each day at both Pranayama and Asana taking the opportunity in a workshop environment to discover the Asana’s and individual specific needs. In the Restorative, we will be developing our supportive inversions and extension to which will compliment the morning’s Asana class.
To farewell the program, a light lunch will be provided. Please consider this as a way forward for 2019 yoga practice. This is not an intensive but more of a developing program for the future of your individual practice. There are only 10 spots as Simone’s focus is to assist to the needs individually and that the group develop the skills to help with their individual concerns.

Senior Iyengar Teacher, Caroline Coggins, Workshop
Each year Chevron Yoga Centre hosts a workshop led by Senior Iyengar Teacher Caroline Coggins. The workshop is open to all students of yoga and over the three sessions, time and space will be created to quiet the mind and observe what comes from 3 sessions of yoga.
“The word workshop conjures up feelings of grunt and push, and yet this is not what these sessions are about! They are to do with concentrated focus, like a mini retreat in daily life, were time is put aside to pay attention, directing your whole self to a finer point, becoming present to the present. What happens then is that space is made, and our minds, like a pebble dropped into a pool, sinks into that quietness. We come home to ourselves.” ~ Caroline Coggins
Asana Before the Class
This workshop is suited to anyone who regularly attends classes in a Centre and or have a home practice. At the beginning of each class, considerations should be given to conditions and or injuries that you are currently managing and how best to prepare yourself before the class commencement; in particular shoulders, knees, back, neck, hips, blood pressure and mensuration complaints. This workshop will provide you with a maturity to your self care as a yoga practitioner.
Asana with the Ropes
In this workshop, we explored the freedom the ropes give you with specific asanas, how to successfully use the ropes for these asanas and how to explore the depths the ropes can create. At the end of this workshop, you will feel at ease with using the ropes and have a deeper understanding of how to specifically tie, hold and structure the ropes.
Three Day Workshop: YOGA & DIGESTION: Cultivating Organ Health
This workshop explored how to best support the digestive system through our yoga practice. The digestive system can be compromised through diet, stress, lifestyle & sleeping habits, addictions, work, and postural holding patterns. The first part of the workshop incorporated a sequence of asanas that were designed to support digestion. Students learned correct asana alignment and how to balance muscular tone and release, which are key in achieving optimal digestive health. The second part of the series was based on cooling the nervous system through restorative and pranayama techniques to calm and reset digestion.
